Construction History
To say the earth moved to make the Central City Parkway a reality is an understatement. Five and a half million cubic yards of dirt and rock was transported to build the Central City Parkway. That's about 10 million tons of earth, filling 666,667 standard dump trucks. If lined up end to end those trucks would extend 3,157 miles-from Denver to New York state. Built to be one of the safest and most scenic mountain drives in Colorado, the Central City Parkway was designed and constructed to meet or exceed the Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) standards for a safe, modern highway.
